Did you know congress approved a minimum wage hike?
The measure was tucked into a bill and signed just before congress recessed for the long holiday weekend. The minimum wage will raise from $5.15 to $7.25 over a two year period. Dem. Charles Rangel says this will help those who earn minimum wage to better keep up with the rapid rise in the cost of living. It is hoped that small business tax breaks over the next ten years will help pay for this.
