Did You Know An Ancient Greek Shrine Had Been Found?

Did you know an ancient Greek Shrine had been found?

About 80 miles north of Athens, in Orchomenos a small rural shrine has been found. Here were discovered clay pots, busts, lamps and figures of women and animals. It is believed to have been offerings to goddess not yet clear, but associated with plant growth and fertility. It has been thought that a shrine to the Three Graces was located in Orchomenos. One of the offerings was inscribed with the name of Eurynome who was the mother of the Graces.
