As my son finishes up his math book for the school year, this is the last chapter in the book. I don't remember covering this, nor do I remember learning to do it with a calculator. This concept is not too hard to learn, but it is time consuming. It involves a few unique tricks to getting the job done, but it is a good skill to learn. I do believe it is good to learn to use a calculator, but not exclusively.
