Did you know about animal's amazing eyes?
While we read the eye poster in the doctor's office, we learned many fascinating things about the eyes of animals. I knew that many animals can see better than humans in the dark because of the "tapetum"-the silver lining inside their eyes. It works like a little mirror. (I've even seen this lining while doing dissections in A&P class.) Owls of course are notorious for their night vision as well. On a moonlit night, it is said they can spot a mouse 150 feet away. Many fish can see bright colors that humans cannot. Hawks and eagles have extraordinary eyesight compared to humans. These animals have amazing eyes.
