Did You Know That Star Wars Is a Retelling of Myths?

Did you know that Star Wars is just a modern way to re-tell a myth? It has all the characteristics of mythology, especially as outlined by Joseph Campbell in The Hero With a Thousand Faces.

You see Luke introduced in his ordinary surroundings. You see his call to adventure, and his initial denial of the call. You see threshold guardians threatening to hold him back.

You see him set out on his quest with a wiseman/mentor seeking the talisman or treasure. He meets a princess on his way. He encounters entering a labryinth. You see him ultimately rise to the challange, attain his treasure, and return to share his conquest with others.

In these manners, as well as many other identifying characteristics, Star Wars fits the theme of ancient mythology.
