I guess I'd never heard of them, nor have I ever seen one. I am reading a book right now where the characters find two Irish Wolfhounds . The story describes how large the dogs are, but I could not quite comprehend. So I looked at some pictures on line. I learned that these wolfhounds are considered the largest dogs, by height (by weight only Great Danes and Mastiffs outweigh them.) I was surprised by how big they are, but not surprised that I'd never seen one!
