Did you know about harnessing offshore wind power?
People are looking for better ways to harness alternative energy sources. One Louisiana based company is now leasing 18,000 acres of water offshore from Texas. They have set up testing derricks to see if wind power can be captured off shore and used to power homes in South Texas. It is estimated that the amount of energy available could power the island of Galveston.

oooh, wave power, good idea! I thought of you immediately while watching this program. interesting. and my son is signed up for environmental science next year, gotta let him know of the wave power idea!
