Did you know about field trips for teens?
My son's marine biology class went to the beach today. Even though it was windy and the water temp was about 80 degrees, it turned out to be a nice afternoon. A local naturalist came to meet us and help the kids identify organisms that they found. There was lots of digging, seining, shell collecting, and even shivering! While my son said this was not as good as the physics field trip (Schlitterbahn water park!) he said it was still pretty good.

Those trips can really be good for kids (of all ages). I still remember many that I went on.
I think the kids had fun and learned something too!
