My parents are taking my nephews on a grand vacation this summer! First they are heading to Disney World for a few days. While there, they decided they should just go ahead and board a cruise ship after their stay in Mouseland! I know they will all have so much fun! I can't wait to hear about it and see lots of pictures!

We left on our cruise last week from the port of Galveston. If you are from around here, or have ever visited, you know that the Port of Galveston may not be the nicest around. You can see why we were so taken with the blue of the ocean as we got away from Galveston. But this snapshot on our way out of the port turned out rather nice. My mom was surprised at how nice Galveston looked from this perspective.

The ship we were on last week has a rock climbing wall 200 feet above the sea. It looked a little scary to me, especially with the wind blowing. My husband climbed and made it to the top on one color level. If you make it to the top of the hardest level you win a T shirt.

On two different nights of our cruise, all the wait and kitchen staff came out and sang for the dining room. This was great fun. They paraded through the dining room, and then went down the stairs. The first night they sang patriotic songs and concluded with Deep in the Heart of Texas. This was truly an unique rendition! The last night they sang for us they did a lively rendition of O Sole Mio. Such great fun! Not only did we have lovely food every night, we had great entertainment as well.

Last night we were checking more details for our upcoming cruise. We learned that room service is included in our price for the cruise! Twenty four hours a day we can order breakfast, lunch or dinner items, including coffee, tea, iced tea or lemonade! Amazing! One lady shared a great tip: order sandwiches from room service and pack them in ziploc bags (which you bring along) for your time on shore! great idea!

I cannot believe it! Next week my husband and I will take a cruise to celebrate our 20th anniversary! I can't wait! Seven nights, alone with my husband, on a cruise ship making our way to ports of call in Mexico and Honduras. Amazing! I cannot even imagine how wonderful this is going to be!

Did you know a good place for an anniversary trip?

My husband and I will celebrate our twentieth wedding anniversary in about 10 days now. We have been talking for a while of what to do to celebrate. Seeing as we are not the most financially well off, it does have to be something not too grand in the price department, but we do want something out of the ordinary, special.

We have talked of cruises, beach trips, trips to the mountains, on and on....we are now looking at maybe Key West or Key Largo. Hopefully we will soon be soaking up some rays in one of these exotic, yet not too far from home locales. Sounds great doesn't it?

Anyone else have a spectacular suggestion before we begin finalizing any plans?? (yes, we are waiting for any of those unheard of last-minute deals!) :)
